Please check your availability for the following schedule now and inform your captain ASAP if doubtful

Summary

All matches should be considered competitive but social outings.  Visiting teams are our guests and should be looked after like welcome guests at all times, whatever the result.

  • Each Player should study the team schedule and if unable to play on a particular night, please ensure that you inform your Team Captain and organise a sub well in advance of the match.
  • If possible consult with team captain and partners before confirming substitute.  Alternative subs should be selected from the list below.
  • It is the responsibility of the home team to organise supper – This is not the sole responsibility of the ladies.  The Team Captain should contact team members in relation to this –
  • The team captain is representing the club and must organise the team and ensure the competition runs smoothly.
  • At Home the captain should ensure that
  • Our team arrives on time,
  • there is a sufficient supply of new Approved Tennis Balls
  • the keys of the pavilion
  • the visiting team is welcomed, introduced to the home team and after supper are formally thanked for travelling.
  • When away the captain should ensure that all members are present and on time, that they make themselves known to the opposing captain and introduce each member of the team.  Try to ensure that the game is played competitively and in good spirit.  Formally thanks the hosts for the game and the supper.
  • The captain is also responsible for ensuring the competition rules are adhered to, NB substitution rules are very intricate and should be studied in detail.  The captain must fill in the team sheet each night before the match and afterward must fill in and sign the score sheet.  Home captains must send them in ASAP.  Match rep[orts can be sent by e mail but signed reports should be held in case of any dispute arises
