The winner of any section A B or C are eligible to win the prestigious Delaney Cup. A C team took it home in 2007.
2007 report John & Ronnie go close in Delaney cup Four Rathangan players competed in the 2007 Delaney cup in Athy. John Goff and Ronnie Heffernan, only lost in the semi finals of the C section to a more experienced pairing. The Rathangan pair, who were drawn together by sheer fluke, had only lost 20 of the 25 games in their qualifying section to qualify. While John Gallagher and Pat Gaughan and their partners only just failed by a single point to make the Knock out stages. Another good showing from the Rathangan Visitors and a very enjoyable tournament, thanks to Peggy and the organising committee. This year the Delaney cup was won by team winning the C section. PD
