New Members are welcome,

A warm welcome to all new members.  We look forward to meeting you soon and hope you enjoy your tennis in Rathangan.  Don't forget we'd love your company at any of the forthcoming social events.  Congratulations to both Catherine Hackett, Rathangan and Noel Hennessey, Newbridge, both of whom recently joined and reached the quarter finals of the the clubs Mixed Doubles Championships for the Kevin Tiernan Trophy. 

We have members from a wide area, Rathangan and District, Newbridge, Kildare, Colbinstown, Edenderry, Robertstown, Clonbullogue and Walsh Island .  All are welcome. 

We try to cater for Adults, Families, Children of all abilities.  Whether you want gentle exercise and a social outlet or maybe even quite competitive tennis we aim to provide you with the opportunities.  We host beginners nights, Coaching sessions, a full schedule of internal competitions for all levels of players.  We also send teams of players to the B & C sections of the Laois League and many players travel to other clubs open events.

New members should fill in the membership application form (see this section web site) and post with a cheque to

Their will be notified when their application has been approved by the RTC committee.

Membership Fees

All membership fees and outstanding entry fees are due 1st January. 

Funds are required to invest in new facilities and run the club.   Please pay on time to help your club operate efficiently. 

The club has just installed additional flood lighting.  Membership Fees have been slightly increased this year for the first time in four years.   Those who pay their membership on time will receive a bonus of tokens for the lights.  

All members should fill in the membership form each year and return it to the Club Treasurer to update our information. 

It is important that we have all members including all family members details correct.  For Children under 15 we need their names & dates of birth and the signed consent of parents and the contact numbers of parents.  

Cost of playing

Please ensure that the lights are turned off when you are finished.

It is important and in the interest of all members to conserve electricity.

As the club is growing rapidly, the members are from a wider area and may not visit the town except for tennis.  Therefore we have use our Club Web Site and Group Text as our main channels of communication.  The Club web site is updated as regularly as possible, competition draws and results are usually posted with 24 hours of receipt.  You can provide information for the site by e mail or text.  Group texts are used to notify people of events, changes ins schedules etc.  In most cases it is best to check the web site for the relevant details as texts are limited in size.    

If we have your mobile number you should be receiving club texts- if you think you're are not receiving them then please let us know and we'll make sure you are in our data base and that way you'll be first to know what's on. 

We do not want to be notified of children's mobile phone numbers or e mails addresses. 

We intend to confine communications with children through their parents / guardians.
